Dr. Erkan Oterkus


Dr. Erkan Oterkus is an associate professor at University of Strathclyde, Glasgow. He is also the director of PeriDynamics Research Centre (PDRC). Before joining Strathclyde, he was a researcher at NASA Langley Research Centre in U.S. He is the co-author of a book (Peridynamic Theory and Its Applications, Springer) and numerous journal and conference papers in the areas of peridynamics, structural health monitoring and mechanics of composite materials. Dr. Oterkus was a visiting professor at Stanford University (USA), University of Padova (Italy), Otto von Guericke University (Germany) and Nihon University (Japan). Dr. Oterkus is an associate editor of Journal of Peridynamics and Nonlocal Modeling (Springer). He is also the subject editor, special issue editor and editorial board member of various other journals. Dr. Oterkus was the co-organiser of the 28th IWCMM workshop which was held in Glasgow in 2018.
